ABRASIVE CLOTH
Resinated abrasive on a paper or cloth support. It is presented in folds, discs or abrasive bands for smoothing surfaces.
ABRASIVE PASTE
Chemical compounds that, by using certain greases,
allow for the incorporation of the appropriate abrasive on the disc.
They can be solid or liquid, with different types of abrasives
depending on the operation to be done.
COTTON FABRIC
Cloth made with 100% cotton sliced yarns. Several qualities are available according to the application of the disc.
CROSS
Process applied to a fabric so that when the disc
is manufactured, the threads of the material cannot fall and so that we
have a correct wear.
FLANNEL FABRIC
Cotton fabric that has been carded on one or both sides, eliminating the hair, making it smoother.
| GATHERINGS |
Indicates how much fabric there is in a disc. The
more gatherings, the greater the amount of material, and therefore
greater hardness and resistance.
IMPREGNATIONS
Chemical treatments that give the disc a greater hardness, resistance to
wear and/or allow for a better supply of polishing paste.
CONTACT WHEEL
Supports the abrasive cloth band (abrasive cloth) on the polishing machine.
SELF-VENTILATED
Thanks to its configuration, when the disc rotates
it allows for a certain refrigeration of the cloths, allowing it to
last longer.
SISAL
Flexible and resistant fibre obtained from the Maguey and other species of agave, from
south-east Mexico and parts of Central America.
SISAL FABRIC
Fabric made of sisal yarns. The sisal fabric is available in different qualities depending on the work to be done.
SISAL ROPE
Braded rope composed of 8/9 twines of sisal yarn.
STIFFENED FABRIC
Cotton fabric that has been treated or impregnated to increase its hardness and rigidity.
STIFFENER
Treatment applied to a cotton fabric to give it hardness and resistance
